Keywords:
Malik ibn Anas, Al-Muwatta, Quran interpretation, sayings of Malik, Malik's methodologyAbstract
Imam Malik - may God have mercy on him - took care of the interpretation, so he interpreted the Qur’an with the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the sayings of the Companions, with his commitment to the narration and the chain of transmission, and his interpretation was distinguished by extrapolation and tracking of the corresponding verses in the subject and of the evidence and effects in the one jurisprudential issue, and by objective interpretation, and investigation of the correctness, And with realism in interpretation, and originality in following, his interpretation came to a great degree of accuracy, precision, and scientific and methodological value; therefore, it was important to know his method of interpretation, and this is what this study aimed for, in which he used the comparative analytical inductive method, by following His sayings in the interpretation, extrapolation of his effects in his book Al-Muwatta, and their study and analysis to clarify his approach, and as for the results of the study, it showed that the Imam - may God have mercy on him - followed a tight approach in interpretation.
