The table is a manifestation of human civilization, with its own rules, regulations and customs that govern it, and its development throughout history is a symbol of the development and advancement of peoples and the culture of human societies. This is what prompted members of Hijazi society to deal with it on various social and religious occasions; It is an embodiment of their way of thinking, knowing that cooking food and the way it is presented is considered an art through which the host conveys messages to the guest, while taking into account the etiquette of its use and the ways of sitting around it and eating the food, while preserving the local touch imbued with Islamic etiquette at a time when Hijazi society embraced more cultures and peoples than any other, which influenced and were influenced by the Hijazi table.
What distinguishes the Hijazi table from other tables in neighboring and distant Islamic regions? This is what we will answer in our research paper: “The Hijazi table through the book of travels during the 13th century AH / 19 AD”Travel books will constitute the primary material for this study, as travelers will transmit through them their most important observations and the occasions that distinguished each type.
