Abstract

This research aims to focus on the importance of language in relation to identity and to discuss the ways in which our Arabic language can engage in the new knowledge society. The research seeks to clarify the means to achieve this and to overcome the obstacles facing it. Therefore, an inductive and descriptive approach was followed to collect and analyse data. Upon completion of this study, I was certain of important facts and reached conclusions, the most prominent of which is that language is identity itself, and there is no identity for us without our Arabic language. Our language has a unique position among languages; it is a global language capable of keeping pace with the times, a language of education and research with its distinctive characteristics. With it, we will enter the knowledge society, which is charged with informational interaction, the society of innovation and development that we aspire to.
